About me
My work explores human behaviour, the human body and emotions, including addictive behaviour and it's many facets, and the recovery of the inner child. Using a mixture of imagery and the written word, I creative a narrative told on textiles, sharing stories of life experiences including my own.
My materials are recycled wherever possible, and are utilitarian in nature (think pillow cases and aprons). I use a variety of techniques including embroidery, embellishing, heat transfer, knitting and dyeing. I am also a passionate photographer and can be found photographing close ups of cows, dogs and other creatures I find of interest.
My inspirations include Tracey Emin specifically her brutally honest textile work. The surreal style of Frida Kahlo's self portraits and the portraits of Jenny Saville.
